HOL Guard is a local-first coding-agent runtime firewall from HOL.
On your Windows machine, HOL Guard can gate shell commands, secrets and file reads, MCP server registration changes, and plugin or skill installs. Risky actions go through local approvals and receipts so you stay in control of what supported coding agents do at runtime.
Licensing and cost: the core product is freeware / open source under Apache-2.0. Optional Guard Cloud adds paid Solo/Pro/Team sync and team policy (see https://hol.org/guard/pricing). Local protection does not require a paid plan.
Honest limits: Scan is not a safety guarantee. Catalog scores and modeled benchmarks are not marketing guarantees. HOL Guard is not a cloud MCP gateway, WAF, EDR, MDM, antivirus product, or a complete prompt-injection preventer.
